His professional practice focuses on infrastructure project development and financing, multilateral and corporate financing, capital markets, regulation, merger control and competition law. Enrique has participated in several of the most important financial transactions and competition cases carried out in Peru in the past years, and is a frequent lecturer and speaker on matters relating to his field of expertise in Peru and abroad.
Enrique was a Partner at Miranda & Amado from 2000 to July 2016. He served as Chief of Advisors to the Peruvian Prime Minister from 2016 to 2017, and as Special Presidential Envoy to the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development – OECD in Paris in 2017. He rejoined the firm in 2018.
Enrique has been a member of the Board of COFIDE, Peru’s development bank (2016 to 2017); has served as President of Alianza Pro Bono, Peru’s Pro Bono clearinghouse (2013 to 2016); has been a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of Enseña Perú, Peru’s local chapter of Teach for All (2013 to 2016); and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Pro Bono Network of the Americas. In 2014, he received the Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in Latin America award given by Latin Lawyer.
Before joining the firm, he was an associate with Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP in New York (1997 to 2000), and served as Technical Secretary to INDECOPI’s Unfair Competition Commission (1995 to 1996).
Enrique is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, where he graduated with highest honors, and holds an LL.M. Degree from Yale Law School.
He is a native Spanish speaker, and is fluent in English.
