Practice Areas

Represents institutional lenders with their originations of commercial mortgage and mezzanine loans, distressed assets portfolios including with respect to workouts, modifications, foreclosures, and acquisitions and dispositions of loan pools and REO properties. Has also worked with lenders on their conduit mortgage loan programs and the later securitization and/or whole loan sale or acquisition of such loans. Represents developers of real estate projects in acquiring, selling and financing real estate and landlords and tenants in leasing commercial space. Works with various clients in the formation of partnerships, limited liability companies and establishment of investment funds in the real estate area.

Career

Chair of Katten's Chicago Real Estate practice; Member of Katten's Compensation Committee, Summer Associate Hiring Committee and Diversity Committee and the Limited Liability Company Task Force.

Member of the CRE Finance Council (formerly CMSA), Chicago Bar Association Real Property Committee and Chicago Mortgage Attorneys Association.
