Crisanto Pérez-Abad is Partner of the Competition & EU Department at Eversheds Sutherland's Madrid office.
Crisanto specializes in competition defense, particularly in advising companies involved in sanctioning procedures initiated by the CNMC for cartel infringement or abuse of dominant position. He also has extensive experience in recurring advisory on merger control, having notified a significant number of transactions to the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) and the European Commission. Additionally, he is responsible for mandatory foreign investment filings in Spain.
Crisanto has taught Competition Law in the EU Law LLM program at Universidad Carlos III since 1999. In 2013, he was appointed Professor of Competition Law in the International Business Law LLM at the Centro de Estudios Garrigues, where he taught until 2023. He regularly lectures on Competition Law in the competition law course at IEB in Madrid and in sector-specific competition courses (pharma, compliance) organized by Instituto de Empresa. He has been consistently recognized by the legal directory Chambers & Partners since its 2012 edition.
