Conall Patton KC

Conall Patton KC has a broad commercial practice, including energy, competition, banking and finance, jurisdiction/choice of law, civil fraud and international arbitration. He is highly rated for his oral advocacy and cross-examination skills, the elegance of his drafting and his responsiveness to clients. He was awarded Commercial Dispute Resolution Silk of the Year at the Chambers UK Bar Awards in November 2024 and was shortlisted for Competition Silk of the Year 2024; he was The Times’ Lawyer of the Week in July 2025. Conall is sought after for advice on difficult questions of contractual interpretation, appearing in three interpretation-related appeals in 2024 alone; in 2025, he acted for the Premier League in an arbitration against Leicester City concerning the meaning of its rules. Conall also acts in a wide variety of competition claims, with particular experience of cases in the tech sector (including acting for Google and Amazon). He has recently represented Sports Direct in competition litigation concerning the supply of football kit and Ede & Ravenscroft concerning university gown hire. Conall also has real expertise in shareholder claims under Schedule 10A FSMA, having appeared for the claimants in Autonomy v Lynch, the first such case to reach trial, resulting in a recent damages award of over £700 million.
