Chris specialises in immigration and nationality cases with a national security element, including before the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC), as well as in interrelated public law proceedings.
Chris has a particular interest in complex political asylum cases, and a varied practice across the full range of immigration work, including human rights cases, nationality cases, criminal deportation, rules-based applications and applications outside the rules for individuals and their family members, and cases involving EU law. He has considerable experience in applications and appeals at all levels, including Judicial Review applications and appeals to the Court of Appeal and to the UK Supreme Court. Chris advises both private and legally aided clients.
Chris read law at the University of Leeds and holds a Masters Degree in Public International Law from Kings College London. He joined the firm in 2009.
Chris qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and was appointed partner in 2018.
Chris advises businesses and individuals wishing to make applications under all business and worker related immigration routes, including advising and assisting companies to apply for and maintain sponsorship licences.
Chris provides expert immigration advice to the family court, to local authorities and to parties in family proceedings, and often acts for local authorities in respect of the immigration and nationality issues of children in care.
