Christian Mahoney is the global head of Cleary Gottlieb’s eDiscovery and Litigation Technology group. Christian’s practice focuses on eDiscovery, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and information governance.
Christian advises clients on data preservation and collection for legal matters. He negotiates discovery procedures, prepares clients for depositions, revises collection processes, and utilizes advanced technology, including AI, for data identification. His role is crucial in antitrust, securities enforcement, and litigation matters. He also serves as discovery counsel for some of the world’s largest corporations, advising clients on information governance and data retention as well as litigation preparedness.
Christian is a leader in the application of artificial intelligence and GenAI for discovery. He has developed, negotiated, and implemented novel artificial intelligence technologies and workflows including the development of artificial intelligence to classify both attorney client privilege and sensitive health information. Because of his expertise in the area, he has been retained by large eDiscovery service providers to advise on technical and legal best practices in the implementation of artificial intelligence for eDiscovery.
