Practice Areas
Caroline’s experience spans Chamber’s core practice areas of construction, engineering, and energy work. Her current and recent cases include a $1 billion oil and gas arbitration in the Middle East, two airport cases in the Middle East and East Africa and substantial infrastructure projects in the Middle East, Hong Kong and the Caribbean. These cases often involve complex technical, factual and legal issues and Caroline has acted as junior counsel at all stages of arbitration from acting in Dispute Board proceedings to advising on appointment of the Tribunal, pleadings, cross examination at the final hearing and drafting written closings. The contracts central to these cases are often EPC and FIDIC contracts.
Domestically, Caroline acts as sole counsel and sole junior in court litigation and adjudication. Recent cases include PFI hospital projects and residential homeowner cases. Claims under the Building Safety Act 2022, in professional negligence and in contribution are regular features of these disputes.
Caroline has a particular interest in work in East Asia, where she has lived and worked. Caroline has conversational spoken and written Mandarin.
