Simon’s UK and international practice spans arbitration and litigation under both common law and civil law systems and various procedural rules. The types of disputes on which Simon is frequently instructed involve complex engineering, construction, technology or energy projects He is particularly noted for acting in those cases concerning complex issues of law or requiring detailed cross examination on technical issues, delay and disruption or professional negligence. Projects in which he is retained are wide-ranging but have included those arising out of large commercial and residential developments, hospitals, oil and gas installations, M&E works, piling operations onshore and offshore, construction of roads, pipe laying, tunnelling, track installation/repair, pumping stations, coastal defences and effluent, power stations, utilities, chemical plants, and airport terminals. Simon is invited to lecture around the world on various topics relating to international arbitration and engineering disputes and their resolution.
