Betty Yan, co-head of the Life Sciences Transaction practice, advises pharmaceutical, biotech and other life sciences companies in a broad range of corporate, operational and transactional matters. Providing both a legal and business perspective, she assists clients in new entity formation and corporate restructuring; drafting and negotiating industry specific agreements (including manufacture and supply, distribution, research and development, technology transfer, and clinical trial agreements); complex M&A transactions involving single product, product line, business divisions, facilities, and corporate entities; and structuring strategic alliances, joint ventures, collaborations (including co-promotion and co-commercialization), and licensing arrangements.

Prior to entering private practice, she was in-house counsel at The Chase Manhattan Bank, where she represented its diversified industry group (which included the health care industry) in complex finance arrangements and was seconded to the bank's Hong Kong office.
