Ana Maria Damasceno leads the Dispute Resolution department at William Freire Advogados Associados and is responsible for structuring and consolidating the practice. She defines litigation strategies and acts in high-profile and sensitive disputes across key economic sectors, particularly mining and infrastructure. Her recent work includes representing a mining company in complex collective claims critical to maintaining operational continuity, and leading the legal strategy in a structural class action related to a major mining expansion project. Ana also advises in strategic cases concerning tailings and waste management.

Ana holds a PhD (in progress) and an LLM in Law from UFMG and UFOP respectively, and a postgraduate degree in Public Law from PUC Minas. She is also a member of the Civil Procedure Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB). Ana is recognised for her leadership in large-scale disputes and her ability to develop innovative legal arguments in highly regulated sectors.
