Practice Areas
Amr is a Senior Associate at Freshfields’ International Arbitration Group based in Dubai. He advises clients in construction, commercial and investor-state arbitrations involving contracts governed by major systems of law, and has extensive experience of the laws of the Middle East. Amr regularly sits as arbitrator and is a judge on the Appeals Panel of the International Basketball Federation. He is also an ICC YAF Representative for the MENA chapter and has been recognised by the Association of Young Arbitrators as one of ‘Africa’s 50 Most Promising Young Arbitration Practitioners’.
Career
Amr has worked for Freshfields since 2014 in Paris and now in Dubai. Previously, Amr served as a public prosecutor in Cairo and a consultant at The World Bank in Washington, DC. He is admitted to practise in Egypt and New York, and is registered as a Legal Consultant with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department.
