Amanda Tessar represents leading technology companies in their most important and challenging intellectual property (IP) matters.
Amanda is regularly called upon by global industry leaders to litigate their high-stakes patent infringement and related claims, including indemnity issues specific to patent and IP disputes. She has successfully litigated complex patent cases around the country, including before federal district courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the International Trade Commission, and through private arbitration. These cases have spanned a range of technical fields, including semiconductors and semiconductor packaging, GPS, WiFi, cellular telecommunications (including issues relating to 5G), audio and video codecs, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, chemistry, mechanical devices, and biotechnology. She has significant experience with standard essential patents and fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory (FRAND) licensing disputes.
Amanda previously served as a law clerk for Justice (later Chief Justice) Michael L. Bender of the Colorado Supreme Court. Before that, she interned for Judge (later Chief Judge) Wiley Y. Daniel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
Additionally, Amanda offers her services as neutral in high-tech cases, including by mediating or arbitrating. As of late 2024, she is certified as having completed Harvard Law School’s Mediation and Conflict Management coursework.
