financing of complex infrastructure projects, with special expertise in the energy, transportation and water sectors. Allan structures innovative commercial transactions and leads project financings, acquisitions, restructurings, securities offerings and private placements for a variety of sophisticated institutional clients throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe.

Career

Allan is consistently ranked as one of the world’s leading project finance lawyers by Chambers, IFLR1000, Who’s Who Legal and Legal 500. He was named one of California’s “Top 50 Development Lawyers” by the Daily Journal and serves on Law360's Project Finance Editorial Board.

He has taught for over a decade as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and the Haas School of Business. He was previously an adjunct lecturer for the post-graduate program in Derecho de Empresa at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City. He is a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy and was the founding co-chair of the State Bar of California Real Estate Section’s Subsection on Public-Private Infrastructure.

Allan created and hosts the podcast Law, Policy & Markets: Milbank Conversations. He is a regular contributor to Forbes and frequently speaks and publishes.
