Alex specialises in EU and UK competition law, with broad experience across international merger control, competition enforcement actions, state aid, distribution agreements and general compliance counselling. Clients turn to him for strategic, commercially focused advice and representation on complex transactions, antitrust investigations and distribution strategy (including selective distribution and e-commerce issues). He has experience across many industry sectors, including consumer goods, gaming and leisure, financial services, healthcare, online platforms and tech, industrial equipment, chemicals, security and defence.
Alex has been a partner since 2003. He is based in London and often works out of Brussels. In 2008/09, Alex spent 18 months based in Beijing co-leading the China antitrust practice. He regularly co-ordinates antitrust strategy across multiple jurisdictions – enabling him to offer a truly international perspective.
Alex is co-editor of the 'The Foreign Investment Regulation Review', 9th Edition, published by the Law Reviews, as well as the co-author of the UK chapter. He has published articles in the ABA Antitrust magazine and is a winner of a 2019 Antitrust Writing Award.
