Business Finance & Restructuring:
The business finance and restructuring group at Bilzin Sumberg brings together diverse backgrounds in accounting, finance, and banking to assist clients with commercial finance transactions, corporate restructuring, and insolvency proceedings throughout the United States. Attorneys are highly skilled negotiators and creditors’ rights litigators. The team represents debtors and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, and assists in complex finance structurings, such as asset-based lending and cash flow financings, letter of credit facilities, mezzanine and subordinated debt offerings, intercreditor arrangements, workouts, and recapitalizations.

Bilzin Sumberg’s corporate attorneys — best known for their mergers and acquisitions, joint venture, and financing experience — work with both public and private companies. They represent clients in M&A transactions, including sales and recapitalizations, and in corporate finance and capital markets transactions, such as private equity, venture capital, public and private offerings of equity, and debt securities. Land Development & Government Relations:
Bilzin Sumberg’s land development and government relations group represents both public and private clients on matters securing government contracts, permitting, zoning, and regulatory relief from government agencies. Attorneys are skilled in land use and growth management, platting and replatting, zoning, government contracts, and procurement. Bilzin Sumberg’s real estate group provides legal counsel in Florida and nationally across a broad range of real estate practices, including financing, purchases and sales, development, and leasing. The group provides counsel related to all types of matters involving commercial and residential properties, including hotels, mixed-use, marinas, retail, office buildings, industrial properties, entertainment facilities, and undeveloped land. Bilzin Sumberg represents two of the largest special servicers of CMBS loans in the country, which have serviced in excess of 220 pools of CMBS loans totaling more than $299 billion in principal and relating to real property interests in all 50 states.

Bilzin Sumberg’s public-private partnership (P3) team has been the key legal representation on various multibillion-dollar P3s in Florida.
