Profile
Robinson Bradshaw has been providing innovative, valuable legal services to clients across the country since its founding in 1960. The firm is organized into four broad departments — corporate, litigation, real estate and tax/ERISA — and has 47 practice areas spread across these departments. Most of its 165+ attorneys have spent their entire careers at Robinson Bradshaw and practice across multiple practice areas, giving them a breadth and depth of experience that allows them to bring unique insights to a variety of client situations. It also creates a client-focused culture of collegiality and stability that the firm believes to be unrivaled in firms of its size.
Robinson Bradshaw is structured to be efficient and cost-effective by avoiding internal metrics and incentives that increase internal competition, decrease internal cooperation and detract from client service. Specifically, individual attorneys do not have billable hour information on other attorneys, and the firm does not have billable hour quotas, origination credits or a collection-driven compensation system. The result is a highly collaborative culture in which attorneys are free to place work at the level of experience appropriate for each project and that best serves the client’s interests.
The firm also is not rigidly divided into practice groups. The attorneys work in multiple practice areas and are trained in a wide array of matters. This interdisciplinary approach makes each lawyer more creative in assisting clients, and the relationships its lawyers forge across practice areas allow for streamlined teams without bloated costs. Another thing that sets Robinson Bradshaw apart is its large number of shareholders. Clients are guaranteed effective, experienced staffing and senior-level attention, making the firm a strong partner that produces better results.
Robinson Bradshaw's lawyers are graduates from top law schools, former clerks for federal judges and alumni of AmLaw 100 law firms who have chosen to live and work in the Carolinas. The firm provides its clients with superior value by leveraging its position as a midsize firm comprising exceptional attorneys in a less-expensive market and by developing long-term partnerships with the businesses it serves.
Robinson Bradshaw is proud to be a Mansfield-certified firm, recognizing the deliberate steps it has taken to increase and sustain inclusive practices within the firm and its leadership. In order to best serve its clients, the firm hires a diverse group of lawyers with both exceptional academic achievements and practical problem-solving skills. The firm and its lawyers are repeatedly recognized as leaders in the legal community.
