About
Provided by Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A.
Robinson Bradshaw's employment practice is known for outstanding results in litigation and on appeal, as well as for prudent and practical counseling and advice. We handle a substantial volume of individual cases and class actions arising under federal and state employment laws. This includes class and individual claims arising under: federal discrimination statutes, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 and the Americans with Disabilities Act; the U.S. Constitution; and other federal statutes, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. We defend clients against claims arising under state law, such as claims for wrongful discharge and breach of employment contracts. We frequently handle litigation involving enforcement of employee non-competition agreements and claims of misappropriation of trade secrets against employees and their employers.
An important part of our work is counseling management about practices to reduce claims of employment discrimination, wrongful discharge or unfair labor practices and to effect compliance with the myriad of state and federal laws regulating the workplace. We also counsel employers involved in employee representation elections and collective bargaining negotiations, and litigate claims arising out of such elections.
