Yaman Verma is a Partner in the Competition Law Practice, with over 11 years’ experience. He has been involved in numerous significant enforcement and merger control cases, with a special focus on e-commerce and digital markets.
He has extensively advised on Indian competition clearance for complex multi-jurisdictional mergers, including Microsoft/Nokia, GSK/Novartis, Pfizer/Allergan, Dow/Dupont, Agrium/Potashcorp, Siemens/Alstom, Fiat/Peugeot, and Linde/Praxair, as well as secured clearance for some of India’s largest M&A transactions, including Vodafone/Idea, Walmart/Flipkart, and Facebook/Jio. He also advises several private equity firms on their minority stake acquisitions. On the enforcement front, he successfully defended Microsoft, WhatsApp, and Flipkart against abuse of dominance complaints, represented Matrimony.com in its successful complaint against Google, and secured a 100% waiver of penalty for Globecast Asia in its cartel leniency application.
