Xanthy Papageorgiou

Xanthy Papageorgiou is a Senior Associate and Family Mediator in the Family team at Sinclair Gibson LLP. She advises high net worth individuals and families on all aspects of family law, including divorce and separation, complex financial remedy proceedings, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, cohabitation disputes, and private children matters. Xanthy is known for providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice while remaining sensitive to the personal and emotional complexities often involved in family disputes. Xanthy’s matters often involve complex issues, including interveners, international assets or businesses and capacity issues.

In addition to her litigation practice, Xanthy is a Resolution-trained family mediator and is registered with the Family Mediation Council. She regularly assists separating couples in resolving financial and children-related issues through mediation. She promotes all forms of non-court dispute resolution, helping clients achieve constructive and lasting outcomes wherever possible, and is a proud member of the National Resolution DR Committee.

• Advising UHNW and HNW clients on nuptial agreements, clean-break settlements and wealth protection strategies involving family wealth, business interests and inherited assets.

• Securing substantial costs awards for clients in complex financial remedy proceedings

• Successfully resolving TOLATA and Schedule 1 disputes by negotiating early settlements and dismissal of all associated claims.

• Regularly advising clients engaged in mediation and drafting consent orders to formalise settlements.

• Advising in high conflict private children matters and leave to remove applications (domestic and international)

Xanthy has over a decade of experience in the legal profession, having joined Sinclair Gibson (formerly Harcus Sinclair) in 2014. Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2018, she has built a strong practice advising clients on complex family law matters, with particular expertise in high-net-worth financial disputes and alternative dispute resolution. As both a solicitor and mediator, she is well placed to provide strategic, tailored advice, helping clients achieve their objectives through negotiation, mediation or court proceedings, as appropriate.
