Partner since 2001. William G. Farrar is a member of the Investment Management, Capital Markets, Finance and Restructuring and Financial Services Groups of the Firm’s General Practice Group. Mr. Farrar has extensive experience in corporate and securities matters involving a diverse group of financial institutions such as investment companies, insurance companies and broker-dealers in both a public and private setting, including, in particular, business development companies and registered investment companies, and regularly advises on non-transactional matters such as corporate governance and compliance. In addition, Mr. Farrar has broad experience outside the financial institutions area with property and mortgage REITs, as well as service, communications, manufacturing and other companies. Prior to joining Sullivan & Cromwell, Mr. Farrar worked as a certified public accountant in the New York City office of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells and as controller for a privately owned real estate investment group.

Clients that Mr. Farrar regularly advises on a wide variety of transactional and non-transactional matters include TCG BDC I, Inc., TCG BDC II, Inc., Carlyle Secured Lending III, TCW Direct Lending VII LLC, Oaktree Strategic Income II, Inc., Oaktree Strategic Credit Fund, OFS Capital Corp., Goldman Sachs BDC, Inc., The Swiss Helvetia Fund, Inc., Unum Group, Vornado Realty Trust and General American Investment Co., among others. In addition, Mr. Farrar serves as counsel to the independent trustees of the Amundi Pioneer Funds mutual fund complex. Prior representations include the Prudential Mutual Funds, Aberdeen Funds, and the DLJ Focus Funds, among others.
