Tom is an Associate in the Human Rights department and specialises in international and domestic human rights and environmental cases. Tom has acted in some of the most challenging and high-profile human rights cases of the day, including cases arising out of British military action in Iraq and Afghanistan, cases concerning the right to free and fair elections, and a wide range of strategic litigation to protect wildlife and the environment.
Tom joined Leigh Day in September 2016, working first on international corporate accountability civil damages litigation before focusing on public law matters from 2019. Prior to joining Leigh Day, Tom spent several years working for human rights and criminal defence organisations in Malawi and Kenya. Tom trained at a magic circle firm, where he qualified into the Environmental & Trade group, working in London, Romania and New York on matters concerning the environment, bribery, sanctions and business & human rights.
