Elizabeth specialises in employment, discrimination and trade union law. Her work ranges from pre-action advice and mediation to litigation in the tribunal and civil courts.
She has particular expertise in sex discrimination, sexual harassment and equal pay cases. She represented the 3,5000 claimants in their successful equal pay litigation against national retailer, Next. The landmark judgment handed down by tribunal in August 2024 represents the first win for a national group equal pay claim under the Equality Act 2010.
Elizabeth’s clients also include the senior officers and management teams of some of the UK’s largest unions.
Elizabeth worked as a solicitor before transferring to the bar in 2005. She worked at a law centre and out of chambers before moving to Leigh Day in 2009 - 2016 as an employed barrister and in-house counsel.
Elizabeth was Head of Employment at Trade Union law firm, Pattinson & Brewer between 2016 – 2019.
She re-joined Leigh Day in 2020.
