Experienced advocate in international commercial and investment disputes, including arbitration before ICSID, ICC, ICDR-AAA, LCIA. JAMS, SIAC, HKIAC and UNCITRAL tribunals. Lead counsel in wide variety of arbitration disputes -- oil & gas/LNG, solar/renewables, nuclear, banking, M&A, telecommunications/satellites, private equity, hotel/hospitality, tax indemnities, retail and sports/motor racing. Admitted in both New York and England. Has argued numerous large Bilateral Investment Treaty/Energy Charter Treaty arbitrations involving expropriation and allegedly unfair investor treatment by host states; also acts as counsel for private companies and sovereigns in U.S. cross-border litigation, sovereign bond and arbitral award enforcement disputes under the New York Convention and ICSID Convention – as well as cases involving the Hague Conventions on Service and Evidence, the Alien Tort Claims Act, "Section 1782" (cross-border discovery) and diplomatic/consular immunity. Experienced also in cases involving alleged misappropriation of artwork and cultural artefacts. Council Member, Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration.
