Practice focuses on transactional and regulatory matters in financial services, with particular expertise in Canadian consumer financial services compliance. Regularly provides strategic legal counsel to clients in the area of consumer finance including documentation, licensing, and disclosure requirements. Provides advice on compliance with regulatory requirements relating to, among other matters, anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing laws, sanctions, anti-corruption, consumer/credit reporting, financial products and services including credit cards and prepaid cards, debt collection, loyalty programs, and the regulation of financial institutions. Among other professional experience, member of the Department of Finance Canada’s Advisory Committee on Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing. Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. Recipient of Lexpert’s Rising Star award and Precedent Magazine’s Precedent Setter award.
