Partner. President of the Cuatrecasas International Institute for Legal Strategy on Human Resources. He has extensive experience in organizational change and the modification of working conditions, group transfers, decentralization, downsizing, legal configuration of compensation systems, labor implications of company takeovers and spin-offs, legal aspects of introducing new technologies, and labor aspects of cross-border corporate restructuring. He also has extensive experience in advising on senior management issues, compensation and benefits.
Career
Professor of Labour Law (ESADE), he lectures regularly at national and international seminars and conferences. He is an arbitrator in the committee of the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (“USMCA”). Salvador de Rey has been a visiting lecturer at the London School of Economics and at Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations (New York).
Professional Memberships
He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA). He previously chaired the advisory board of its Global Employment Institute (IBA GEI) and its Employment and Industrial Relations Law Committee, was a board member of its Legal Practice Division (LPD) and a member of its Human Resources Section Board. In 2001, he was a member of a European Union group of experts that analyzed the implementation of a European system of labor mediation and arbitration for cross-border disputes.
Publications
Author of 30 monographs and over 180 articles and essays in collective works and national and international magazines on labor relations and law. He is a member of the editorial board of the Spanish Labor Law and Employment Relations Journal, and of the scientific committee of the journal Labos. Revista de Derecho del Trabajo y la Protección social (Labos. Journal on Labor Law and Social Protection). He is a member of the advisory committees of the journals Trabajo y Derecho (Work and Law) and Derecho de las Relaciones Laborales (Labor Relations Law).
