Richard's fields of practice are: Crime, Fraud, Licensing and Gaming, Professional Discipline and Regulatory, Public and Administrative law, Inquests, VAT and Tax Tribunals. Winner of the Crime Junior of the Year Award 2013, Richard is recognised as one of the leading juniors at the criminal Bar. In 2013 he acted for the former Cabinet Minister Chris Huhne, and as junior successfully defended Patrick Cryne, Chairman of Barnsley FC and former CEO of iSoft, who has now been acquitted of allegations of market abuse. In 2014 he is defended a Customs Officer for selling news stories to The Sun (Op Elveden), two company directors charged with commercial blackmail, to act in an internal investigation conducted by a multi-national corporation, to appear in several sets of civil recovery proceedings, to appear in proceedings before the FRC, and a clutch of tax- tribunal cases.
