Paul Boshyk

Paul is National Chair of McMillan’s Employment & Labour Group, based in the firm’s Toronto, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta offices. He is also a Co-Chair of McMillan’s Executive Compensation Subpractice Group. Paul helps employers navigate issues relating to all aspects of workplace law, including hiring and terminations, employment standards, compensation and benefits (including employee stock option plans, equity incentive plans and complex bonus arrangements), human rights and accommodation, workplace investigations, and occupational health and safety. He also drafts and revises a wide range of workplace documents, including employment agreements, policies and procedures, accommodation plans and investigation reports. Paul has extensive experience advising in connection with the employment, labour, and benefits implications of complex corporate, public-private partnership (PPP), and real estate transactions. In his transaction practice, Paul has acted for private equity firms, established companies and startups in numerous sectors, including manufacturing, transportation, and food, beverage and agribusiness. In his employment litigation practice, Paul has appeared on behalf of employers before all levels of court in Ontario, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Ontario Ministry of Labour, the Human Resources Professionals Association, and at numerous mediations and arbitrations.
