Partner and Head - Projects Practice

Neeraj is a Partner and Head of the Energy, Infrastructure and Natural Resources Practice at Trilegal. He specialises in strategic advice, project development, mergers & acquisitions and restructurings in the energy, infrastructure and mining sectors.

Neeraj has extensively advised private sector clients on bidding and developing energy and infrastructure projects involving complex concession agreements, tolling agreements, power purchase agreements, EPC, O&M and asset management contracts, mine development and operation arrangements, financing agreements, resource trade and purchase contracts and land acquisition arrangements. He also provides strategic advice in special situations and high value commercial disputes in the energy, infrastructure and resources sector. His expertise has often been sought by the Government of India and state governments in the energy sector including on the framing bidding guidelines and documents.

Neeraj has worked on several first-to-market projects in the sector, including the first-of-kind PPP project for pumped hydro storage project, renewable energy PPP projects in India and Egypt, one of the first PPP metro rail projects, the largest Indian OTS transaction in the power sector outside the IBC to one of the largest recent project financings for a thermal power project.
