Miriam van Ee started her career with NautaDutilh in May 1998 and joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2008 as a partner in the corporate and M&A practice. She co-heads the Dutch Energy Group.
Miriam is specialised in M&A, financing, restructuring, securities, corporate, contract and energy law. She has broad experience and in depth knowledge of domestic and cross border mergers, acquisitions, de-mergers, joint ventures, shareholders agreements, (acquisition) structuring, restructuring, commercial (energy) agreements and (project/acquisition) financing.
Miriam has developed a large national and international practice in a variety of sectors, with a special focus on the Energy & Utilities sector.
In addition to the aforementioned transaction expertise, Miriam is specialised in structuring of energy projects through the planning and construction phase, commissioning, operation and maintenance with respect to a variety of technologies such as wind, solar, biomass and heat projects. She has also in depth experience in local energy production and integration of energy solution in buildings.
She holds degrees from Utrecht University in notarial law and civil law (cum laude) and spent two years (2002 and 2003) working in the Corporate and Finance practice in London.
The broad and in depth expertise of our Renewable Energy team members in the Netherlands has led to many invitations to speak and publish. Miriam publishes articles and blogs about unbundling of energy companies, updates on the Heat Supply Act, developments in Dutch energy legislation, grid registrations and other energy related subjects and is speaker at seminars / round tables.
