Michiel Martin is a partner in the corporate & M&A department. He specializes in mid-market mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, structuring, private equity, acquisition finance and shareholders disputes. Michiel recently advised on the participation by Dutch construction company Dura Vermeer in Leeuwenstein Groep, the sale of HotBath to Swedish listed FM Mattson Mora Group, the acquisition by Gimv portfolio company Impact of Haldu and the sale of rollercoaster manufacturer Vekoma Rides to Japanese listed Sansei Technologies and Tromp Holding B.V.
He was admitted to the bar in 2000 when he started at Simmons & Simmons. In 2005 he joined BarentsKrans. During 2014 – July 2020 he was the managing partner of BarentsKrans. He is a guest lecturer at the Dutch post-graduate academy Grotius mergers & acquisitions.
Michiel is one of the board members of the Krajicek Foundation (set up by Wimbledon winner Richard Krajicek to encourage disadvantaged children to sport).
