Harry Rek (1961) started his career as a lawyer in 1985 and was a partner in large Dutch and international law firms. Since 1 January 2014 he is a partner in the corporate practice of BarentsKrans. Harry has extensive experience with complex international transactions, often a combination of M&A and strategic commercial contracts. He led transactions in the Dutch telecoms, energy and waste management markets, and in and outside the Netherlands for IT and media companies, as well as hotel transactions. In the Dutch market he is also active in private equity transactions, from small investments in innovative companies to complex exit transactions. He also advises start-ups and young businesses on their structure and commercial contracts, and more established companies on their corporate governance. Clients praise him for his practical “hands on” attitude, combined with sound business judgment and a good understanding of the commercial objectives of his clients.
