Michelle specialises in general crime, advising, defending and prosecuting. She maintains a serious crime practice with emphasis on murder, terrorism and fraud. She has extensive experience in cases involving young defendants and/or defendants with mental health issues. Her fraud practice has included serious and complex fraud, money laundering and restraint and forfeiture. Appellate work includes as junior Treasury Counsel and in Silk, murder convictions and unduly lenient sentences. She has conducted international defence work including in capital cases in the Caribbean and USA including acting for an ex-PM charged with allegations of ministerial corruption. International advisory work includes preparing cases on behalf of appellants for the Privy Council; advising the NCA in relation to high profile sexual offence prosecution in the Caribbean; advising corporate entities and individuals in relation to private prosecutions and the recovery of internationally held assets.
