Career

Michael specialises in all aspects of residential landlord and tenant work with particular emphasis on Human Rights, anti-social behaviour and regulatory matters. He has been instructed in multi-handed injunction claims involving organised crime groups and also minors.

Experienced in claims under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and claims arising following stock transfers.

Regularly instructed on behalf of local authorities, Housing Associations and by specialist tenant advisers including not for profit bodies.

Recently obtained a renewable three-year ‘persons unknown’ injunction on behalf of a consortium of four local authorities to prevent ‘car cruising’.

Notable reported cases include: Wolverhampton City Council and others v Persons Unknown [2024] EWHC 2273 (KB); Nightingale v Bromford Housing Association [2024] EWHC 136 (KB); Gill & Gill v Kassam [2018] 8 WLUK 119; Birmingham City Council v Pardoe [2016] EWHC 3119 (QB); Birmingham City Council v Ashton [2012] EWCA Civ 1557; Corby BC v Scott [2012] EWCA Civ 276; Birmingham City Council v Frisby [2011] UKSC 8; & Knowsley HT v White [2008] UKHL 70.
