Career

Tracy represents local authorities, children's guardians, parents (including vulnerable adults requiring additional client care) and children (including older children with the ability to instruct in their own right) and prospective adopters at all levels of court up to and including the Court of Appeal (both in her own right and also being led by Queen’s Counsel).

Her cases have involved death of children, serious non-accidental injury, shaken baby syndrome, sexual abuse (including cases where parents have been falsely accused of sexual abuse by the other parent) fabricated/induced illness (FII), torture and chronic neglect.

Her particular strength is in fact finding hearings where her past experience as a Criminal/Crown Court advocate provides clients with a particular advantage.

Tracy also has an interest in the law relating to surrogacy and appeared in the leading case Re X (A Child (Surrogacy: Time limit) [2014] EWHC 3135. She recently appeared successfully in the Court of Appeal in December 2018 on an urgent basis on a removal case which was listed within 7 days of the removal hearing:Re:M (Children) [2018] 12 WLUK 427.
