Michael Kahn is often called upon to take the lead on business-critical matters involving intellectual property (IP) and has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation. Michael carefully and efficiently evaluates and addresses patent infringement and trade secret claims in the context of his clients’ market position and business goals. Working closely with in-house IP lawyers, litigators and general counsel, he wields his substantial skill as a strategist to manage complex cases to successful business resolutions or trial wins, and is also regularly relied on for IP due diligence, both in transactional circumstances and in anticipation of litigation. Michael has significant experience in all aspects of litigation, including pre-suit investigations; discovery; Markman; dispositive motion practice; arbitration, district court, and ITC trials; inter partes reviews before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board; and multidisciplinary matters with parallel proceedings in multiple judicial and administrative tribunals. Michael sits on several Akin committees including the firm’s Partnership Admissions Committee, the New York Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and the Executive Hiring Committee.
