Matthew has a wide practice encompassing all aspects of non-contentious and contentious traditional and commercial chancery. He has a particular focus on litigation in trust and probate disputes, related company matters, insolvency (particularly cross-border issues), and civil fraud. He regularly appears in the higher courts.

Matthew’s practice frequently involves offshore matters and related private international law issues. As well as being called to the Bahamas Bar, Matthew frequently advises in matters arising from all of the principal offshore jurisdictions, including BVI, Bermuda, Cayman, the Channel Islands, and more recently St Kitts & Nevis and Grenada. He has appeared in the courts of The Bahamas, the US, Cayman Islands, and the Privy Council. He has also acted as an expert on Bahamian law in the UK and US courts.

As well as being instructed as sole counsel, due to the nature of his practice, Matthew is equally comfortable working as part of a larger team.
