Matt D Basil

Matt D. Basil is a partner in the firm's Litigation Department. He is regularly called upon by Fortune 500 companies for help with a wide array of commercial disputes and class actions, particularly complex contract, antitrust, financial and fraud litigation. He has tried a number of cases in federal and state courts and represented clients in numerous arbitration proceedings. Matt also advises public and private corporations on internal investigations, board matters, and employment issues, among other matters. Matt also maintains an active pro bono practice, which has included a range of civil and criminal matters.

Matt is admitted to the Illinois Bar and is a member of the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Matt received a JD, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1997 where he was a member of the Loyola University Trial Competition Team (1996-1997) and Philip H. Corboy Trial Advocacy Fellow, and a BS, with high honors, from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1994.
