Marta González is Partner in the Litigation and Life Science Department at Eversheds Sutherland's Madrid office.
She is also Manager of the Pharma In-House Support Unit. Her professional practice focuses on advising companies in the Health and Life Science sector in regards to their main areas of activity, particularly with respect to patent infringements, product liability damages claims brought by consumers and cases of unfair competition.
In addition, Marta has supplemented her experience in the sector by working as an in-house lawyer in the legal departments of pharmaceutical companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, S.A. (Spain) and Celgene International Sarl (Switzerland).
Her experience in pharma litigation (product liability and patent) and her work on secondment on commercial and regulatory issues gives her a remarkable experience and specialism in life science.
Marta was recognized in 2019 as Lawyer of the Year at Life Science & Pharma category by the prestigious Iberian Lawyer Legal Directory awards: Forty Under 40. Also, she is listed as recommended lawyer by the Legal 500 directory and the Life Science and Pharma Department co-lead by Marta, is listed at Chambers & Partners in Band 3 for Life Sciences: Patent Litigation.
She is a regular contributor to specialized legal publications and has been Academic Director and professor of the Executive Program “Pharmaceutical Industry: legal and commercial implications” at IE Law School. Also, Marta was Academic Director and professor of the Master’s degree in Intellectual Property “Master Class on intellectual and industrial property” at Universidad Villanueva.
