Marina Maciel advises national and international clients on all aspects of environmental law, and in environmental licensing, environmental issues in M&A transactions, and identification of environmental risks and their effects. She has extensive experience in environmental litigation in the courts and before administrative authorities, and in negotiating administrative settlements such as “TACs” (Termos de Ajustamento de Conduta).
Among the clients Marina represents are some of the largest national and international companies doing business in various sectors of the economy, such as infrastructure, waste, power, and manufacturing in general.
Prior to joining BMA, Marina acted as external consultant to the World Bank, providing legal support in the financing of environmental public policies in the Brazilian state of Piauí, and worked in New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP-NYC), providing legal support in the management of the city’s water resources.
