Career

Luiz Antonio is a partner of BMA. His practice focuses on corporate law, listed companies, corporate governance, capital markets, securities law, M&As and banking.

He specializes in advising listed companies, including their boards of directors and committees. Of the course of his career, he has taken part in many complex transactions involving corporate reorganizations of groups of listed companies, acquisitions and sales of control, and public tender offers, acting for both acquirers and target companies. Luiz Antonio has led the defense in various administrative proceedings before Brazil’s securities regulator, the CVM, and the National Financial System Appeals Council, and has acted in complex corporate disputes, both as legal counsel and as arbitrator.

Luiz Antonio served as a member of the board of directors of B3 - Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão, Brazil’s stock exchange, and of B3’s Audit Committee. He has also served on the Capital Market Commission of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance - IBGC, the Regulations Committee of the Brazilian Futures Market - BMF, and on the Fiscal Councils of listed companies. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of BrMalls S.A..
