Marianne is a Partner in Mishcon Private and a private client lawyer with more than 20 years’ experience advising families based mainly in the Middle East. She advises multinational families, their private offices and trustees on the range of legal and practical complexities and conflicts that arise when personal, business and trust assets are shared by more than one generation. She often advises on how best to incorporate Shari'a in private wealth structuring as well as preparing family constitutions and the implementation of appropriate governance where family business and the stewardship of wealth intersect.
She has practical experience of how banks and professional trustees operate: she worked as a professional trustee first within Lombard Odier private bank (in Bermuda, working also in Geneva and London) and then at Kleinwort Benson, in London. This adds a dimension of pragmatism to Marianne's advice which is particularly apposite in the Middle East market.
