James Liffen is a Partner and Head of Mishcon de Reya’s Residential Property team, specialising in high-value residential conveyancing. He works primarily with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals on prime Central London properties, country houses, and large landed estates.

James has extensive experience handling complex deals such as portfolio purchases, auction sales, planning and tenancy issues, as well as structuring joint ventures and managing high-value loans and refinancing for residential properties.

Known for his practical and thorough approach, James is equally comfortable managing both intricate transactions and straightforward sales and purchases. He frequently works alongside Mishcon de Reya’s Private Client teams—including Tax, Family, and Corporate—to provide clients with seamless, tailored advice.
