Marek Jeżewski is an attorney-at-law and a Partner heading the Arbitration & Complex Commercial Disputes practice at Eversheds Sutherland Poland. He specializes in public international law, international investment law and dispute resolution. He is primarily involved in international arbitration and strategic counseling for the resolution of complex commercial disputes. He has over 15 years of experience providing legal advice to businesses.
He has represented clients before all major arbitration institutions such as ICSID, ICC, SCC, LCIA, SCAI, SAKIG and SAL, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations. He works for leading companies in the energy, mining, and heavy industry sectors. He has experience in resolving post-trade disputes, including post-M&A. He has represented numerous foreign investors in disputes against various countries. Additionally, he has represented companies in multiple disputes against the European Commission before the CJEU concerning the gas market and competition law violations. As a pioneer, he introduced Third Party Funding for disputes to the Polish market. He also serves as an arbitrator, both as a party nominee and as a presiding arbitrator.
He is the Polish ambassador for the Vienna International Arbitration Center under the VIAC CAN initiative and is a recommended arbitrator for many arbitration institutions.
