Marc-Etienne is partner and co-heads the CMS Banking & Finance Group, which consists of over 550 lawyers in 40 countries.

Marc-Etienne set up the Capital Markets practice in France. He advises on a wide range of debt capital markets, equity capital markets and derivatives transactions.

With over 20 years' experience, Marc-Etienne has advised numerous issuers and financial institutions on debt issues (over €150 billion financed since 2011): Eurobond, Euro PP, hybrid securities, commercial paper, EMTN programmes, covered bonds and liability management transactions. Very involved in sustainable finance, he has advised on numerous issues of green bonds, social bonds and sustainability-linked bonds.

Marc-Etienne also has particular expertise of derivatives transactions, covering their documentation (ISDA, FBF, etc.) and regulatory aspects (EMIR, etc.).

He is also a regular contact for public authorities on capital market issues.
