Lyle Larson represents clients involved in all aspects of the electric power sector, including matters ranging from FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) litigation and compliance matters, utility asset transactions, complex interconnection arrangements (including co-location and surplus), external resource participation in RTO markets and pseudo-tie arrangements, NERC and regional reliability entity matters (including counsel to large regional Reliability Coordinator), IROL-Critical designated generator compensation, large load integration, smart grid and distributed resources, mergers and acquisitions, Section 203 applications, market-based rates, open-access transmission tariff formulary rates, RTO capacity, energy and ancillary services market design matters before FERC. Lyle serves as FERC and Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) counsel to dozens of separate market-based rate sellers that own or control over 85,000 MW of generation (coal, gas, nuclear, solar, wind, storage, hybrid and DER (including aggregations), in 28 states, in each interconnection and every RTO region).
