Lucy Edwards

Lucy is an exceptional practitioner, widely recognised for her technical expertise and warm approach to clients. She advises HNW individuals, families and trustees on a broad range of private wealth, tax and trust matters. Her core focus is on estate and succession planning for UK and international families. She has also co-authored a PLC Multijurisdictional Guide.

Lucy's areas of expertise include international private client matters, where Lucy has clients across the globe in the US, continental Europe, Channel Islands, South America, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia. A member of the firm’s Family Investment Companies (FICs) strategy group, Lucy advises on growing use of FICs as an alternative to trusts – writing on the subject in the Charles Stanley client magazine and presenting externally at their Inherited Wealth event. Lucy also advises charities and works to raise awareness of the opportunities and place for charitable giving in estate planning for HNW families. She has worked on a pro bono basis for start-up charities and has collaborated with the head of legacy income at a major national charity to present to their philanthropy team.

Thrice named one of eprivateclient's 'Top 35 Under 35', Lucy was also listed as a Legal Week ‘One to Watch’ in 2018, 2019 and 2020. In 2018 alone, Lucy was shortlisted for ‘Young Practitioner of the Year’ in the STEP Awards; won the silver award in the Citywealth Future Leaders ‘Lawyer of the Year – Partner’ category and was included in the Citywealth Future Leaders 100 List. She also retains a position in the Citywealth Leaders List.

Lucy is a member of the STEP London City Branch committee, regularly arranging its seminars and administration; gained an Excellence Award for her performance in the STEP Diploma and holds an Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients. She is also a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers, AIJA.
