James D'Aquino

James specialises in providing tax, trust and succession planning advice to UHNW individuals, families, family offices and trustees in the UK and abroad. He has an enviable client list, comprising several billionaires and enjoys the variety and range of a wide and varied client base. James’ advice includes complex tax planning, estate planning, negotiations with HMRC and some contentious trust and estate matters.

James has also spear-headed the launch of our Tax Disputes Team – a cross-disciplinary group of colleagues from Corporate Tax, Private Client, Contentious Trusts & Estate and Commercial Dispute Resolution, bringing together exceptional experience. James is also a leading member of the firm’s India and Yachting Groups.

In addition, James is also mentioned in a significant number of cases submitted by our teams in Family and Immigration, an indication of his high level of client service and the quality of his advice.

James’ international background, having grown up and lived in several jurisdictions including time spend working in Switzerland, means he brings a unique perspective for clients. He also advises clients in Europe, Eastern Europe and the CIS, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Far East, Australia, and the US.

Ordinarily, in more usual years, James spends time travelling to Switzerland, Dubai, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
