Career
Lorena Garnica is a lawyer specializing in regulatory law, public policy design and implementation, and public and regulatory law, with more than 20 years of experience. She is a research professor in the Department of Environmental and Land Law at the Externado University of Colombia. Lorena is a professor in the Master's program in Agricultural Law at the Externado University of Colombia. She is also a professor in the Master's program in Economic Law at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
Since 2018, she has been a columnist for Ámbito Jurídico on land use planning, agricultural law, and environmental law.
She was Deputy Director General of the National Planning Department.
She has advised the relevant public entities on the design and implementation of public policies related to land use planning, rural investments, and agrarian law, as well as on the legislative and regulatory development of these policies.
She is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and has a specialization in commercial law from the same university. Lorena has a master's degree in business law from the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (Madrid, Spain). Candidate for a master's degree in environmental law from the University of La Rioja.
