Liz is a technology specialist, advising exclusively on technology-related matters. She regularly assists clients in relation to complex transactions for the procurement, supply, development and commercialisation of technology, with a particular emphasis on large-scale technology outsourcings and transformations. This work spans traditional IT, telecommunications and digital platforms, as well as emerging technologies and e-commerce. Liz's expertise includes advising on intellectual property, digital, privacy and data protection law, as well as financial services regulation applicable to technology, including law reforms in the digital space.
Prior to joining Russell McVeagh in 2017, Liz was a Senior Associate at Milbank, based in London, during which time she also attended Harvard Law School’s Executive Education Programme. She was an associate based in Ashurst LLP's London office previously. In 2019, she was named Young Private Practice Lawyer of the Year at the New Zealand Law Awards.
Liz regularly contributes to thought leadership on technology, data security, privacy, outsourcing and other related topics. She recently co-authored the New Zealand chapter of Chambers and Partners' Outsourcing guide and has written a large number of publications published by Russell McVeagh on technology topics, including a series on 'Implementing AI in Your Business'.
