Laurie has a thriving practice of business and property work. His recent focus has been on very high-value disputes involving complex questions of law; cases involving allegations of fraud/wrongdoing; and disputes on multiple fronts.
Laurie has significant experience as a trial advocate. He appears regularly, unled, in the High Court and has appeared in the Court of Appeal as junior counsel on multiple occasions.
Laurie sits as a Deputy Chancery Master and a Deputy District Judge.

Laurie is passionate about social responsibility at the Bar. As Co-Chair of the Bar Council’s Pro Bono and Social Responsibility Committee 2021-4, Laurie led efforts to bring the profession to Net Zero by 2030. He has also worked with Maitland Chambers and the Chancery Bar Association on developing social responsibility and wellbeing strategies.
